Check List Prior to Installing Your New Flat Pack Kitchen

Important things to consider prior to ordering your new kitchen.

Will the layout be different to your current kitchen? If so, the plumbing should be relocated to suit the new kitchen layout.

This would include:

  • Relocation of taps/pipes for the sink
  • Gas for the oven and/or cook top
  • Plumbing for the dishwasher

Step 2: Electrical Work

Do you require new electrical work for your kitchen?

The electrics should be relocated to suit the new kitchen layout.

This would include:

  • Power points for microwave
  • Power points for fridge
  • Power points for toaster, kettle, coffee machine etc.

Step 3: Painting

Will you be painting your new kitchen area?

  • If so, this will need to be done, prior to installation of your new kitchen.

Step 4: Wall Condition

Were the walls damaged before/after the removal of your old kitchen?

Are you knocking out/constructing any new walls?

Problems may include:

  • The walls may have a step and/or may not be straight. This will affect the installation of the cabinets and splash backs.  If so, this will need to be repaired.
  • Large areas of render could fall off the wall during removal of old kitchen. This would need to be fixed prior to new cabinets being added.

  • Or would you like it removed, so you can resell it? I can help with both of these jobs here
